A National Action Plan to Prevent Violence Against Women and Children (2013 – 2025) has been formulated. National Centre on Gender Based Violence will help to implement the action plan through the Action Plan Support Unit (APSU).
Major Activities of the National Centre on Gender Based Violence are:
« Arranging workshop, seminar and consultation meeting for sensitization of the professionals and stakeholders.
« Providing management supports for implementing the national action plan.
« Taking necessary steps and initiatives for preventing violence against women and children.
« Mobilizing the efforts and initiatives to different organizations at national, regional and international level for preventing violence against women and children.
« Coordinating of activities and developing policy on violence against women and children of different ministries, divisions and organizations.
« Making necessary recommendations for formulating new laws and rules and amending the existing legal provisions to prevent violence.
« Taking initiatives for mobilizing resources to implement the national action plan.
« Supporting other ministries and development for allocating budget to prevent violence against women and children.
« Taking necessary initiatives for conducting research and study on preventing violence against women and children.
« Ensuring proper utilization of information technology for implementing the national action plan.
« Updating the national database on information and facts about the incidences and initiatives of preventing violence against women and children.
« Monitoring the existing activities for preventing violence against women and children.
« Reviewing and evaluating for achieving target level of the on-going activities.
« Building networking with the international organization to prevent violence against women and children.
« Establish referral system among the networking organizations.
